Six Social Media trends via Harvard Business Review
This is still interesting that a lot of businesses do not know the power behind social media. For the past I say 8 years, social media is becoming more prevalent in daily lives (i mean, look at the Facebook like or Tweet button). When you rule out those kind of plugins or share buttons, you are potentially losing out on a lot of prospects. Prospects = clients. Clients = dollars. It's better to join and get indexed with Google and the numerous social media outlets than to just live in the 90's and early 2000's. The thing with this generation is that communication is key! Millions even billions of dollars can be made in one tweet or a convo status on facebook because people like that easy accessibility, that personal connection to the company. I won't go into this any further, but the article definitely speaks for itself. These are some very solid points, and some great things to think about for you future blogger/social media heads. Peep the link below:

Dr. Dre ft Snoop Dogg and Akon - Kush
I don't smoke, but this joint is crack. I miss these hard g-funk style beats...Dre never disappoints on the producer tip. Word up! I can't wait to see what else the Detox (10+ years in the making) has to offer!
LIVING THE LIFE (THE KEVIN HART EDITION )
I typically watch every new LTL episode, but this one is particularly funny. Kevin Hart is crazy..he's like JD's funny twin. In fact, JD makes a Flavor Flav reference. lolol. Definitely check this one out, and also check out JD's blog he's been building up @ www.global14.com . Oh yeah. If you haven't seen Kevin Hart's latest stand up (Seriously Funny) definitely cop that!!!

Lloyd Banks: Next 48 hours Part 1
I'm not the biggest G-Unit fan ever, but I always liked Lloyd Banks. I thought he was probably one of the more lyrical/clever/witty type of cats. He always had a straight forward no gimmicky style of flow. A straight up New York cat. Honestly, I thought when he came out with "Beamer, Benz, and Bentley"...I was like aight, he got himself a smash hit, which is cool. I wanna see what the rest of his album looks like. He def has some joints on there!! I like the joint he did with Lloyd, the joint with just Ryan Leslie, and "Start It Up" is an ill track as well. I can go into it deeper, but the whole Interscope dropping him situation as a lil messed up. However, business is business. I'm glad he decided to go independently because he'll get more returns...I bet Jimmy Iovine was thinking dayum...I shouldn't have dropped him. Oh well, good for Banks to stay independent instead of just going back to Iovine's camp because he wanted him back AFTER the success of "B.B.B.". At any rate, peep the jump off right quick and check the making of "Start It Up" :
Post Frequency
I know sometimes I be neglecting this joint..I have one blog that I post on at least 2-3 times daily. It's my main money maker. However, I do wanna post more on here, so you'll see more of my random ish like music tastes, technology, idiosyncrasies if you will. However, you can check out my main blog Playstation 3 Game Console Review. You might see a lot of random, unrelated posts (those are business posts), but you'll also see trailers, previews, and some gaming randomness - you'll like it if you are a gamer =). I also have a Martial Arts Blog - I haven't spent much time on it like I want to cuz I've been extremely busy doing freelance work, attending events, b-boy practice, etc. However, I will definitely try to delve into that more once the holidays kick in and I have more downtime and focus! At any rate, expect more post frequency on here! PEACE!!
Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon Official Trailer
You know..I pretty much watched these for the action and CGI's..and they make a great movie to go see in group. I guess I'll continue to do so with this one. Hahaha. I wonder what direction they are taking in this film. Hmm...peep it!

Will Smith Inspirational interview
This guy is definitely one of my inspirations...from MC to actor to an empire onto his own. This guy's work ethic is impeccable. As a young entrepreneur in the real trenches starting from the bottom, I cannot help but be motivated by such things as this interview. Whenever I hear about success and wealth, the main attributions I hear: hard work, perseverance, and chasing the dream. Of course, I wanna make money doing blogging, e-mail marketing, etc. However, I love the challenge, I love the mindset, I love writing, and I love expression, too. Just the fact that I have so much power behind just a computer and internet access is crazy. Also, the fact that still a very minute amount of people understand this concept, makes me feel great. So on the road to just chasing this dream of having financial freedom and doing something I love to do. I will not stop and I will keep going toward this like a hyena on a lion cub. lol. Anyway, check it out!

Obsessives: Hawaii Mike (Sneaker Connoiseur)
There are countless other "collectors" or "connoiseurs" out there which I will indeed post, but this is one just came across 2day. For anyone that knows me, I'm really into sneakers...everything from Puma Clydes, Adidas Shelltops/Gazelles, Nike SB's, Nike Blazers, Air Maxes, Chucks, etc.
Just like with Hip-Hop (even though sneakers are a HUGE integral part of Hip-Hop), sneakers are a subculture on to itself. Don't even let me get into clothing..haha. In fact, you can check out the Karmaloop Summer Sale and get 20% off all clothing using repcode (Shinrocka3bx)

Jay-Z performs at Nike's World Basketball Festival Concert
For all you unlucky ppl that was unable to attend the show (me included), here's Jigga's performance at the show. It was a short set, but a dope set. Jay is definitely one of the few emcees that I'd actually like to see live. In this set he goes from Reasonable Doubt, The Blueprint, The Black Album to his most recent album, Blueprint 3. Definitely some of my fav tracks which include: Run This Town", "On To The Next One","U Don't Know", "Can I Live", "PSA" and "Empire State Of Mind." Check the footage below!

Kanye West new material via Facebook
If you've seen Kanye's facebook account, you know he's dropped some of his new material off his album previously titled "Good Ass Job." He confirmed this morning via his new twitter account that "I'm bouncing a couple of titles around now." I like this because it reminds me of the old Kanye West performing on Def Poetry Jam. Here's a few of his new joints:

Diggy Simmons interviews Pharrell during Kidult conference
Well, no big introduction is needed for the musician, entrepreneur, sneaker connoisseur, fashion mogul, and philanthropist, Pharrell Williams. Diggy Simmons (son of Rev Run from Run DMC) takes a nice 30 min long Q and A with his mentor at the Kidult conference that Pharrell runs. This is definitely a great and informative interview. I love the honesty that comes from Pharrell and the knowledge dropped.
I think it's even greater for me because I'm a pretty recent graduate from college (I graduated in Jan 2009). And instead of looking for a typical 9-5, I've opted to go left and start a blog which I monetize (this is one of 6), and do something different. I chose Poli Sci is my main thing because I've always been interested in writing and learning about how the system works...but at the same time my heart's been in Business especially in the area of E-Marketing..so that's what I'm doing now. I figure I'm young, and so I do have the opportunity to experiment for the next couple yrs before I have to really, really get it together. I've been at it for about 7 months now, and I'm starting to reap the benefits from God, my hard work, and being a lil different.
This interview touches a lot of things such as music, art, science, and life goals.
I've always had a lot of respect for Pharrell and his crew because they made being different a cool thing. And it should be...everything sounding/being the same makes it boring. We should accept ppl for their differences as much as the similarities. So with that said..Check out the interview with Pharrell below. And a big up to Diggy for the interview...You can check Diggy's blog at Dig's Life of the Jetsetter

2010 BET Awards - Chris Brown tribute to MJ and Breakdown
As a dancer, I can wholeheartedly say I feel Chris Brown for not being able to go through this whole thing without breaking down. The media definitely slaying him for his wrongdoing...dealing with the last album not selling like it normally does...gaining the fans trust..just a lot of things probably built up into this one moment. And don't even forget he probably didn't even have the chance to properly grieve because of all that happened. If you can't identify with this performance, you have no soul or no kinda heart. We all knew that Michael Jackson was his biggest idol, and how much this performance meant to him...Props to Chris Brown. Very heartfelt performance. Michael would be proud.

B-boy Miracles x Tekken Tag Tournament (Furious Styles)
This is still one of my most favorite solo clips. First off, I used to love this song during the cinemas after defeating Unknown on Tekken Tag Tournament...it's really epic and the bass is INCREDIBLE. 2nd of all, it's B-boy Miracles (who has some of the illest footwork in the game). You put that together with dope editing, musicality, and flava - you got fire. Really dope trailer for the Furious Styles 15th Anniversary. Check it out - pretty slick =):

Ryan Leslie preview "Never Going to Break Up" video off Transition Album
In my humble opinion, Ryan Leslie is slept on tooo hard. He is a serious triple threat..well, actually more. Producer (from creating the music, mixing the music, arranging it, engineering), Songwriter, Dancer, and Entrepreneur. I really appreciate his videos because you can tell the passion he has in each of his productions, and that cat gets mad hype to dance, too. LOL. Anyway, check it out. If you haven't copped his self titled debut Ryan Leslie, and Transition - please do so now! GREAT MUSIC!

Heroes officially canceled by NBC
Man, this was one of my fav series, but I knew it was bound to happen. Each season got kinda worse/confusing/inconsistent. This is one of those situations where it was the perfect show when it started, but each season just did not bring the heat from the first season. Well, I'm hoping that they don't leave Heroes in a cliffhanger. I'm hoping there will be not even a final episode, but more so a movie to tie together everything. I think that would be great for the fans. Either way, it's been an incredible run and definitely one of the better shows of the late 2000's. Without further ado, here's the article:

Alicia Keys "Unthinkable (I'm Ready) " video
I've loved Alicia Keys from when she came..I think she's an all around talent: songwriter, singer, pianist, and actress. I give her props every single time because she's really good at what she does. She's a true artist, and always has a message in each song/video she does. This is yet another example. I see that more Black and White color schemes in videos are making a huge comeback in the last couple of years. I guess in an industry where funds are limited and record sales are at an all time low, people are looking for ways to not only save money but getting more artistically creative because they have to. Well, take a look at the video and see for yourself. Definitely cop her album as well. I dig it =). You can always count on her for a soulful outlook on life.

Wale "Diary" video
I'm really proud of Wale for the simple fact that he has not really gone the bullshit pop way. His whole album is pretty solid, and really has a kind of a sidetracked but coherent kind of flow. This is a great video because it his real raw emotion and can be related to. People need to honestly speak how they truly feel, and not just do what's popular or will sell ringtones, etc. I'm not knocking anyone trying to put bread on the table, but artistry should ALWAYS be there. Marsha Ambrosius definitely rips the vocals. Definitely a powerful song. Props to Wale with his album "Attention Deficit". These kind of albums should at least go gold (seriously).

R.I.P. Keith Elam *Gifted Unlimited Rhymes Universal - Guru* (Gangstarr)
Man, it's been one crazy ass year to be honest. Malcolm McLaren passing last week, and now Guru. Well, people that have been really keeping up with his progress know that he had a horrific heart attack like a month to a month and a half ago. Unfortunately, this put him in a coma state.....all the while he apparently was dealing with cancer for year and unfortunately met his demise. I have to say I definitely send out my condolences to not only Guru's fam but one out to DJ Premier as well. They were an incredible duo. From No More Mr. Nice Guy, Step in the Arena, Daily Operation, Hard to Earn, Moment of Truth, Full Clip: A Decade of Gang Starr, and The Ownerz, it's been an INCREDIBLE run for both Guru and Preemo. Despite whatever disputes they may have experienced down the line, you cannot deny the classic music they made together. I remember the first track I heard from them was "Mass Appeal". That was the ultimate track to get down to in a cypher by Gangstarr. Another track I heard when I really got into b-boying was "Skills". The video even had Rock Steady Crew rocking. Back in 2008, I used to volunteer at this summer camp in Virginia and we would perform and also teach a bit. One of the deejays I knew played "Dwyck" pretty much everytime we got down..lmao. That definitely is the summer/spring track. "Lemonade was a popular drink and it still is" - Guru

Exclusive Drake "Over" video
Well, the video is finally out. I have to say this much better than his previous "Best I Ever Had" off of So Far Gone. There were a lot of green screen shots, but I think he definitely got his point across. A lot of criticism this year from the 23 yr old from Toronto both good and bad. Something tells me if he keeps hard at his work ethic and gets on the right kind of tracks and remains honest (for the most part), he'll be around for a while. I have a feeling this is def gonna be a good late spring/early summer anthem. In fact, I know it will be especially on college campuses. lmao. Anyway, looking forward to what's in store for "Thank Me Later". I will either be pleasantly shocked, or sadly disappointed. We shall see =). Hopefully, it's the first choice. Without further ado, here's "Over".

Fabolous "I'm Raw" video off mixtape "There is no competition pt. 2: The Funeral Service"
This video is crazy. I don't remember watchin a video this raw since the Westside Connection jump-off back in the 90's. Def diggin the mixtapes that have been comin out lately. With all the new technology, it is definitely a lot easier and cheaper to shoot quality videos. I can see why many ppl go the independent route. I have to say this mixtape is pretty solid. Definitely worth checking out. Here's the link to the mixtape, and also don't forget to check out his album: LOSO's way.

R.I.P. Malcolm McLaren
I'ma keep this story as short as possible.
I remember it was roughly 2002 <---I was 15 years old. I was just getting into b-boying, and I didn't have much to go on. MTV 2 at the time was a really underground station, imho. They played some of the most underground videos, and had different specials. In fact, it was like the original MTV in certain ways that just played solely videos. I came across this special on there called Made in New York or Once Upon a Time in New York (something like that). It had old videos that were made in New York. One of them was the old Blondie video with Fab Five Freddy. You remember that one line that Debbie Harry said "Eating cars in bars." LOL.
Anyway, so I was watching it...I automatically heard this random beat. I saw a young Rock Steady Crew doing some of their famous routines. All I heard was scratching...."all that scratching is making me itch" literally. I was like whoooooaaaa...what is this song?????? What is this video???? This is the weirdest video I'd ever seen. First off, the title, Buffalo Gals (dozy do?). It was sooo weird (Let me tell y'all this is about 2 yrs before youtube really hit...and I was still on that 56k type ish....morpheus was king at the time..hahaha). So, of course, I immediately hit up my boy Tyree. We were geeking at this video, and we showed the rest of the crew. I kept watching this one part over n over when Wigz and I think it was Fabel did this pseudo locking section..(it's on the breakdown section of the song). Man, I loved that video sooo much...I think I must have replayed that video at least 10,000+ times. Haha. It just had a major impact on me. It was not just the song, the dancing, the video. It was the style, the freshness, the energy, the youth of the video that made me feel the way I felt. Mind you..that video is 27 years old. Hip-Hop was still very much in the infant stage as far as exposing itself into a worldwide phenom.
I thank McLaren for exposing me to a few key elements in Hip-Hop, and just bringing me into a further thrust of knowledge as I was in my preliminary stage of becoming a Hip-Hopper. You not only give me memories as a b-boy and hip-hopper but bring me back to my youth when my life was more carefree, and it felt soo adventurous. Thank you.
