I'm really diggin these short webisodes. You not only get a look into the WTT, but you also get a look into their lives. Not just the glitz and glamor but the stuff behind the smoke in mirrors. I mean, taking it back to Kanye's old home after his Moms passed away a few years ago, you def gotta take things in perspective. check out Episode 2 below.

Amanda Seales formerly Amanda Diva creates new show "Death of a Diva"
As a huge Amanda Diva supporter, I love to see something like this. Her name change that's been quite a staple since the early 2000s when she was co-host of MTV2's Hip-Hop Countdown with DJ Clue was something stirred up quite a following on Twitter. Why the change many ask? Well, here you have a day and age where the term "Diva" has just a derogatory meaning that it changes the scope of the person.
In this video, you get a taste of what kind of message she's trying to convey. The message of constant stupidity in Today's reality show, how women are constantly bringing other women down in Television, and how the name "Diva" just doesn't ring the same bell as before. I support here 100% it's a really dope, dope video. You get to see her talents ranging from acting, impersonations, comedy, music, songwriting, producing, and more! Check it out:

DRAKE "HEADLINES" SPOOF (FULL VIDEO) by Affion Crockett
Man, this fool goes in as usual. I always love his parodies, but this one definitely takes the cake. You can tell the video budget went way up for this one. LOLOL. The fact that he gets on Drake's eyebrows which gets a lot of attention, makes this even more hilarious. "They grow, they grow, they grow"...toooooo funny. It sucks what happened to the show, but it is what it is. He'll get his time soon enough. For now, check out this hilarious parody. Support Drake's new album "Take Care"!

Ryan Leslie - "Beautiful Lie" (Official Music Video)
All I have to say so far is...THIS MOFO REALLY FILMED THIS IN PARIS!!! LOL. For anyone that did not catch that reference, I'll post the previous video after this one. All I have to say is I truly hope that 2012 is Ryan Leslie's breakout year. He does NOT get the credit he deserves. The man is a flat out, self sufficient genius. I'm actually really glad he is doing it on his own terms now. COMPLETE creative control! If you didn't know, he was one of the first artists to really do the viral video, promote yourself and build your brand ONLINE type of person. This goes to show hard work, vision, and dedication really does pay off. One more thing: he really did have the DOUBLE escalades (DOUBLE Es) !! HAHAHA!

Like Mike by B-Boy Cloud aka Daniel "Cloud" Campos
See, THIS IS WHAT YOU CALL DANCING AND ACTING! Yes, I know he does Michael Jackson moves (some of which aren't his *I won't get into that), but this excellent. A great tribute, respect, and a homage. All the while relaying a very IMPORTANT message. As we see a lot of imitators, biters, copiers (whatever you want to call them), there needs to be a breath of fresh ORIGINALITY! Yes! Just like the video says "Don't imitate...originate"..plain and simple. Shoutout to B-Boy Cloud. He is a serious genius! Pure class, entertainment, character, charisma, and hilariousness with a POWERFUL message!

Wale reaches #2 on Billboard 100
Woot, first of all, congrats to Wale! This is a big accomplish for the DMV (D.C./Maryland/Virginia) area. From selling 28,000 on his debut album, "Attention Deficit" on Interscope to now selling 164,000+ his first week with Maybach Music/Warner Bros, it's a big ass accomplishment. You can tell this dude worked his ass off!!! I've been listening to Wale's stuff since 2005-2006, that's when his first major regional single "Dig-Dug" came out in the D.C. Metro Area. I really think that he has a lot better promotion this time. I mean, he was promoted a bit with his Interscope debut, but I honestly don't think he really had the chance to truly get out there, you know? It really sucks, but he's with a MUCH better team this time around. The sound of music will be much better, too. I'll definitely try to cop "Ambition". Congrats to Wale! Here's the RapFix below

RIP HEAVY D
Man, I can't even begin to say how much I listened to this cat growing up. He was on a lot of influential stuff from creating the theme song to "In Living Color", "MADTV", on a song with Michael Jackson and Janet Jackson. How many artists (PERIOD) can say they've accomplished that at basically the height of their careers? I just remember listening to a lot of his old school songs, and the dope tracks he spit a hot 16 on for remixes and the like..he had some fire. He didn't even curse a lot on his records, which made it even more special. He stuck to who he was..he didn't care about personifying a character, an image, or a look. Although, he did have the fly suits when he danced. HAHAHA! It's crazy how Joe Frazier passed the other day (RIP), and Heavy D sent out a tweet about that..literally 15 hours later pronounced dead? How does that happen? Why are the famous black people that have contributed so much dying so fast. It's so crazy. But anyway, here are a few of my old school Heavy D tracks:

One of my inspirations: Ryan Leslie
This cat has consistently made dope production after dope production. It sucks that a lot of people are still sleeping on him, but it is what it is I suppose. I mean, a Harvard graduate at the age of 19, musician, songwriter, rapper, businessman, and early adopter of using Social Media as a means to really gain a fan base. What more can you say about that dude? I really get inspired from people that are truly passionate about the stuff they do, and aren't afraid to show it.
I can't even imagine how many times I probably watched "Ryan Leslie Makes Addiction". For me, the producers are probably the most inspiring. I love the emcees no doubt, but when I see a really hot production go from nothing to something magical, that inspires me. I remember first hearing Diamond Girl...actually, scratch that. I remember first hearing Ryan Leslie remix "Lollipop" by Lil Wayne..just hearing how he was matching the keys up, and fell right on the tempo and made it a beautiful piece of art just with a keyboard. I was like, "Wow, who is this cat? He's nice!!". Then a few months later, I'm watching MTV Jams, and "Diamond Girl" is the Jam of the Week. The production was cool, but the throwback to the Ed Sullivan Show for the video...it truly captivated me.
Then after I saw the making of "Addiction" I was sold. Not only did he have the passion for it, show us how he made it, he edited the video, engineered the song, and put it out there HIMSELF! I was like, "Wow, that's incredible!!". People are still sleeping on him..it's so whack, but you know what he will be a big artist just as big as he is a producer one day. Just like with blogging, I still get doubts, but I know I'll be really successful, and be able to turn this into a true living. Nearly 2 years, and I'm still here. Anyway, check a few of the clips that inspired me:

Check out DJ Make Up Box for some great recipes from Ciroc Cocktails, Martinis and more
A week or two ago I started to follow a person from Twitter named @DJs_MakeupBox (she's actually pretty cool) after looking up recipes for Ciroc Peach specifically. This is especially good for the ladies that want to make some great cocktails without having them be too strong to the taste.

Zelda: Skyward Sword - Origin Trailer
Most definitely looking forward to this new game. Can't wait to play it on my new Wii. It's looking a lot more solid as time goes by. The sword action is really top notch, and I wonder how well it'll play with the Wii mote intact.

Jay-Z ft Kanye West - Otis
I know I'm a bit late posting this, but it's still a rather interesting video. You definitely get this old school toppling ones verse on this type of record, but still a laid back just fun flow. A lot of people really don't like the video due to the simplicity of it, but it's always good to just have a chill record. There's no hook or main theme..just trading verses - that's refreshing to me, personally. Anyway, peep the video!

All right, first off I have some news to share. My friend is doing a small fundraiser for someone that helped her out. As we all know, Missouri had a very unfortunate run in with a tornado. The town of Joplin is pretty much 75% gone. So I'll send you the link below to check out the touching blog. Make sure you donate!! Sometimes, what you give, you receive 2 or 3 times as much. LIVING THE LIFE (TALK 2 ME!! ABOUT STEVE STOUT LETTER)
JD makes some solid points about this letter. I feel that honestly, the talent and song choice should be most recognized. It shouldn't just be the so-called "Pop" artist. I've never heard of this Esperanza character, but I guess I will see why this cat got a grammy and not Justin Bieber (even though I'm not really a Bieber fan to begin with). I honestly think changes need to be made for the way the Grammy's vote on who's making the most impact musically. Check out JD's reasoning. Some good stuff.

Happy Birthday, Aaliyah!!
Well, here is one of my more personal blogs. Aaliyah is someone I've admired, had a crush on since I was around 8 years old. She always had this mystic, cool, secretive vibe about her that I always loved. From the time that she was producing her songs with R. Kelly to the times of Missy and Timbo, she had a great track record and was nowhere near the height of her career! In fact, that joint was simply STARTING to take off.
I remember when Aaliyah passed away, I couldn't contain myself at all. I was extremely sad..I rarely cry but I definitely cried when she passed. Although, I had not met her, she had a strong presence in my life. Her character, her goofiness, her elegant voice, her playful nature was just so authentic. She didn't have to be sexy, she was just naturally beautiful, period. She was going hard on songs with DMX and brought that polish to a rough diamond. She was rocking baggy jeans, timbs, and a tanktop. Still killing a lot of these females nowadays rocking skimpy clothing.
I still recall time and time again when I had a dream about Aaliyah probably a few days after she passed. It was so vivid, it felt so real! Like the air was slapping my face in a good way, and she was right there in person. I always wanted to meet her in real life and never got the chance to, but God wanted me to meet her in a spiritual form. That made it even more special. We were just chillin in my neighborhood. I have no reason why because I didn't ask. She was just a real chill, cool person. No celebrity to her. She just really enjoyed the simple things in life. She was telling me that she had to go the Bahamas in a couple weeks to shoot her video "Rock the Boat". I felt like a prophet because I already knew what happened. I said to her, "Aaliyah, please don't go on that flight...you won't return home. Your plane will crash." She said to me with the most convincing voice and most piercing, gentle eyes, "If I'm to die, then I have no control over it. It's up to God. If it's my fate, then so be it." She simply smiled right after this to me. My dream ended.
Now, you see..hearing this in a dream was just so eerie but made so much sense. I honestly became much more spiritual after I had this dream. I realized that although I had not met Aaliyah in a physical form, God allowed me to see her in a spiritual and most personal format. From that moment on, I always felt like Aaliyah was a guardian angel of mine. Always somehow looking down on me. Checking up on me. I haven't had anymore dreams about her since that moment, but for me...that's good enough.
Aaliyah, your legacy will continue on through your family, your friends, your fans, and your music. We will NEVER forget you. Rest in peace.

Oprah Presents Master Class - Jay-Z
First of all, I'd like to say a Happy New Year to everyone! I hope that this year is a much more positive one than the previous one!! Aight, this is a special post. Jay-Z is one of the people I definitely look up to as far as emcees are concerned. He's a very intelligent guy, and a very introverted person (not unlike myself). I like the way he carries this interview with a certain chill, calm, collected character. It definitely gives you some insight on his thoughts before the game and the early years before he got big. Check it out. You may learn something
