RIP HEAVY D

Man, I can't even begin to say how much I listened to this cat growing up. He was on a lot of influential stuff from creating the theme song to "In Living Color", "MADTV", on a song with Michael Jackson and Janet Jackson. How many artists (PERIOD) can say they've accomplished that at basically the height of their careers? I just remember listening to a lot of his old school songs, and the dope tracks he spit a hot 16 on for remixes and the like..he had some fire. He didn't even curse a lot on his records, which made it even more special. He stuck to who he was..he didn't care about personifying a character, an image, or a look. Although, he did have the fly suits when he danced. HAHAHA! It's crazy how Joe Frazier passed the other day (RIP), and Heavy D sent out a tweet about that..literally 15 hours later pronounced dead? How does that happen? Why are the famous black people that have contributed so much dying so fast. It's so crazy. But anyway, here are a few of my old school Heavy D tracks:

New Usher interview on marriage, divorce, MJ, and Raymond v Raymond

I think Usher is a pretty interesting person - it's always intriguing to see the mindset of a musician. With such a busy/hectic lifestyle, you never truly get to see what is the inner qualities of that person. Of course, being on any media platform you have to be on your 'A' game aka appropriate by pop star standards. Sometimes, that may not be exactly what the person is, or better yet - the full envelope unwrapping of the person. I think the older Usher gets the more of a true person you get to see. It's like with each album he gets deeper and deeper in who he is as a person. I can respect that. It kinda reminds me of MJ in the sense that he might not have said too much in the cameras, but if you truly listened to his music - you'd see the powerful, inner messages he gave. Well, I honestly am looking forward to hearing the rest of his album. Been a fan since "My Way". Anyway, check out the interview. Pretty interesting. Can't wait to check out Raymond v Raymond 

Michael Jackson X Playstation 3 X This Is It Film

I thought this was a pretty interesting little blog from one of the people at IGN…It’s a PlayStation 3 120 GB cover box that features Michael Jackson’s This Is It.

The box set features a 120 gb Playstation 3, and the blu-ray disc of the movie. I guess my only gripe would be that the actual console is not all white like the Final Fantasy XIII bundle. We all know how MJ was rocking that white hard on stage with the white gloves..hahahaha =P. However, it still looks pretty dope actually, and this will definitely be in high demand really soon – thats for sure. This is a great thing for all fans of Michael Jackson and a great collector’s item in general. As a fan of his work, I would definitely grab something like this. This is a special limited release in Japan that’s currently going for about ¥33,500 for the bundle which translates to roughly $362 here in the states. If I had the loot, I would definitely go out and cop it. We all know how Ebay is going to raise the market value once people start scrambling to buy it. All I know if his concert sells out in less than 40-50 mins… who knows what will happen with a system that’s getting in great demand with a movie that’s been seen worldwide…on top of a musical and cultural icon to boot.
