Justin Timberlake ft Jay-Z - Suit & Tie (Official Video)

I love the simplicity of the video giving it a nice kind of edge like Curtis Mayfield or The Whispers. However, it has modern elements such as the flat screen and the iPad. Definitely a good look. I said this to a number of people that disliked this song, "Either you love it or hate it..it just what it is. It's for the grown and sexy. If you pretty much grew up listening to a certain style of music that either was around your time or pre-dated your time..you'll love it." I think the video just made it complete. Simple, complete, and not overproduced. It's refreshing. Good workk

Jay-Z Kanye's Kanye at BET Awards 2012 video

This was rather hilarious, and Jay shows off a much more hilarious, comedic side to himself. Kanye def deserves some humility every now and again. Jay is the only one that can get away with it..lol.

99 Problems - Barack Obama Spoof via Alphacat

This is straight up hilarious. Really great political satire and theme. I really hope when Boondocks comes back on the air, they use the whole situation with Obama to their advantage. Additionally, the Black Nerd (Andre) makes a cool cameo on this joint. I definitely was not expecting that. Peep the parody below!

Affion Crockett - Watch The Clone Vlog1

Hilarity will ensue! I guarantee it. This man has the BEST parodies online imho. I really think he has a gift that extends beyond just the comedy. I mean, doing impressions of rappers and producers, he kinda figured out the trigger between the two. If you haven't seen any of his parodies, you can check my Home Business blog talking about YouTube marketing and impressions. Also, you can check out some work he did Russell Simmons called "Hustle with Russells". If you haven't purchased the real "Watch the Throne" album, go post and check out the videos as they might give you something to look at! Otis N****s in Paris Mercy

Kanye West ft Big Sean, Pusha T, and 2 Chainz - Mercy (Explicit)

Man, I love the steez on this "Mercy" track. The beat isn't even all that complicated but the screwed up hook and the sample of the "Dust a Sound Boy" by Super Beagle is just dope. That's honestly what caught me the first time I heard the song. I was like this is definitely a sample of an old reggae song. I can hear it. And I see that my ears did not deceive me! This track has been bubbling for over 2 months now, so it's no surprise that it got gold status without a video. But here it is!!! Also, if you haven't already seen it - Ye and Jay did a video for "No Church In the Wild". That'll be posted right under this joint! You can buy both tracks on Amazon. I'll have them posted below.

T.I. talks about Trouble Man album and parenting advice for Jay-Z

To be honest, I think a lot of people need to hear what T.I. has to say. It's true that's he been in and out of jail for quite sometime. However, I feel that he has really tried to put that dark side away for good. He's cultivated an album titled "Trouble Man". I think people are really ready to hear a more aggressive, spirited T.I. like back in the day. That's why I can appreciate a record like "Flexin" with Big K.R.I.T. because it reminds me of the old "Dope Boys" record. Also, I definitely love the fact that he gives fatherly advice to Jay. I mean, T.I. has 6 kids! He would have a lot of great answers and great advice to give Jay! This is some good stuff! Check it out:

Jay-Z Feat. Blue Ivy Carter (B.I.C.) - Glory

Rarely do you see Jay really in his feelings like this...I know he had to definitely air his feelings out of blessings and accomplishment for finally having his own child with Beyonce after she unfortunately had a miscarriage in 2006. It's the things you go through that really make you the strong or weak person. It's a very touching, and real track. Simply stating facts and love. I know your kid will definitely appreciate this when she gets older. Perfect way to bring in the year. Congrats to Jay and Beyonce. Check out the song below! Enjoy!

VoyR Presents: Watch The Throne Tour Backstage (Ep.2)

I'm really diggin these short webisodes. You not only get a look into the WTT, but you also get a look into their lives. Not just the glitz and glamor but the stuff behind the smoke in mirrors. I mean, taking it back to Kanye's old home after his Moms passed away a few years ago, you def gotta take things in perspective. check out Episode 2 below.

Kanye West & Jay-Z: Watch the Throne documentary

Sorry, I haven't blogged for a while, but here's a cool 10 min segment of the making of the upcoming "Watch the Throne" album slated for release digitally on August 1st, and actually in stores on August 5th. I'll post the link to the music as soon as it becomes available!

Oprah Presents Master Class - Jay-Z

First of all, I'd like to say a Happy New Year to everyone! I hope that this year is a much more positive one than the previous one!! Aight, this is a special post. Jay-Z is one of the people I definitely look up to as far as emcees are concerned. He's a very intelligent guy, and a very introverted person (not unlike myself). I like the way he carries this interview with a certain chill, calm, collected character. It definitely gives you some insight on his thoughts before the game and the early years before he got big. Check it out. You may learn something

(Official Video) (FULL VIDEO!!) Kanye West ft Nicki Minaj, Rick Ross, Jay-Z - Monster

No other words...just peep the video!!

Jay-Z performs at Nike's World Basketball Festival Concert

For all you unlucky ppl that was unable to attend the show (me included), here's Jigga's performance at the show. It was a short set, but a dope set. Jay is definitely one of the few emcees that I'd actually like to see live. In this set he goes from Reasonable Doubt, The Blueprint, The Black Album to his most recent album, Blueprint 3. Definitely some of my fav tracks which include: Run This Town", "On To The Next One","U Don't Know", "Can I Live", "PSA" and "Empire State Of Mind." Check the footage below!

Jay-Z BBC interview with Jonathon Ross

This is a pretty cool interview. Jay has always been a kind of charismatic individual. A real laid back type of dude, but witty with his own sense of humor. Definitely good to see Jay-Z let his hair down and kick back. I always wanted to go the UK especially London. Hopefully, before I turn 30 - I'll be able to do so. A man can dream =). Hehe. Well, here's the interview below. Jay-Z talks about his Blueprint 3 album, touring, performing in the UK, and him creating the Uh Oh and Single ladies dance?? Hahaha. Also, he performs "Onto the Next One."

Check it out!

A few joints i'm feeling

Here is Mos Def's History video featuring Talib Kweli. I think it's a really dope video. I love black and white videos. The lighting is really dope, and I like the imagery (Muhammad Ali..amongst other things). Mos Def and Talib Kweli always make a dope team together. The vibe is really classy....it shows different sites of NYC - like Brooklyn, etc. Mos Def imho is a very underrated artist - it sucks in this world of ringtone rap and catchy hooks and dances - that true raw to the bone art is pushed back. However, I'm glad cuz the ones that do have more than just ears and eyes can truly see the precious gems in these music videos. Props to Mos Def for doing his thing.

The next joint I wanna get into is Jay-Z's "On to the Next One" ft Swizz Beats. This video is stirring up a lot of controversy due to it's "seemingly" satanic/demonic/occult images, but that's truly not the case. I feel it's more of a mock off of everyone saying that he practices masonry. But more importantly, it's a tribute to another black artist Jean-Michel Basquiat (R.I.P.). I think the video is really dope - the black and white, the lighting is really crisp, the images are ill, the different costumes, and just the flow of the video. It's just a really classy/cool/urban but retro vibe. I think Sam Brown definitely did his thing on this video. Jay-Z is coming toward the beginning of the Fall (Season) of his life. And you can definitely the finesse he has with his style and the maturity he's bring with age and longevity in the music world. I cannot wait to see what else is in store for not only the Blueprint, but the next LP he's working on. Props.

The last one for now is Timbaland's "Say Something" featuring Drake. First off, Timbo is a legend in the game producing for tons and tons of ppl like Jay-Z, Missy Elliott, Nelly Furtado, Justin Timberlake, Madonna and Aaliyah (R.I.P.) so you already know his music catalog is beyond on point. I will say that although this is not Timbo's most impressive track, the simplicity of the song makes it shine by itself. The beat is simplistic but it's infectious. Not only that, Drake's vocals on the song fit perfectly. The hook is also nice, so I'm definitely feeling this. A lot of people are knocking Drake because of the accolades he's getting without releasing an official album, and I can understand that. All I'm saying is give this dude a chance...he's coming from a different perspective. I don't put him in my top 10 or even 20 fav emcees, but I think he's got some good material. And if he keeps putting out consistent songs and stays true to himself - I think he has the chance for some longevity. I'm not just getting on the bandwagon, either. I've been a rebel since day one, but I will say this - I've been listening to this cat since "Comeback Season" in 2006-2007. This was before mad ppl knew who the hell he was, and I've watched Degrassi since 2001. This kid got talent. So check out the vid....
